This was project conducted in partnership of UNDP, Enhancing Access To Justice Project and the main objective of this project is to enhance the access to justice of the vulnerable, poor and disadvantaged communities through the legal literacy and free legal counseling program by reaching to their households. 18 Community Mobile Legal Clinics were established n three districts of terai region viz.Rauthat, Sarlahi and Mahottari. Altogether, through the 18 Community Mobile Legal Clinics established; 1650 people got directly benefited of the program through the legal literacy training program and 210 people got free legal counseling.
The Human Rights Promotion Project of NeLSA is being executed by the NeLSA Human Rights Center with its motto of Law Students Advocacy for Human Rights. The main activities of the Human Rights Center are Community Mobile Legal Clinic; Human Rights and Civic Education Program; Public Interest Litigation Program; Human Rights Law Research and Human Rights Dialogue and Discussion Series.
The NeLSA Law Journal is an initiative by Nepalese law Students to encourage legal research, writing and scholarship. The main objective of this program is to enhance the legal research environment of Nepal through capacity building of the future legal professionals. With this publication, we are endeavoring to, on the one hand continue providing space for national and international legal experts to write but also, as a new initiative, provide law students equal space to showcase their written work. The editorial work of the journal would be done by the law students themselves.About NeLSA
Nepalese Lw Students' Association (NeLSA) is an umbrella organization of Nepalese law students’ with its sole motto of “A Commitment for Socially Responsive Legal Professionalism.” This is a non government and non profit organization run by the law student’s esp. young attorneys and fresh law graduates for the betterment of the law students and their’s contribution towards society. NeLSA was registered with District Administration Office in Kathmandu in 2009 A.D and has got affiliation with Social Welfare Council of Nepal.
